APEAMEX participated in the 35th Trilateral Agricultural Agreement Meeting, held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, from September 28 to October 1, 2026. The meeting brought together government officials and representatives of the agricultural sectors of Canada, the United States, and Mexico to discuss trade and the future of the sector across the region.

During the sessions, participants addressed topics such as how to navigate uncertainty surrounding the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and how to strengthen public confidence in agriculture. They also shared their perspectives on agricultural trade and their short- and medium-term expectations, while producers from all three countries exchanged experiences regarding the sector's challenges and opportunities.

He also emphasized that the sector is ready to begin exports as soon as the USDA adds State of Mexico orchards that have already obtained the required certifications to its list of authorized orchards.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to establish new business contacts in Canada and explore sales opportunities for avocados from the State of Mexico.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Arturo González Navarro expressed his satisfaction with APEAMEX's participation and highlighted the progress made in strengthening dialogue with the USDA, bringing the association and the agency closer together.

These engagements allow APEAMEX to follow up on the avocado export project to the United States, explore business opportunities in Canada, and strengthen cooperation with the Government of the State of Mexico for the benefit of avocado producers.
